Fausto Gardini, whom many of us remember well, has very recently publishe a book, : “My Life through a Window Seat”. I understand that Fausto shares many memories about his professioinnal life with SITA and mentions many of us in his book. This book is available on Amazon (or directly from Fausto if you are in the USA) and here is its presentation:
My name is Fausto Gardini—and yes, it’s Italian, though over time, both my nationality and the places I called home have changed. These are my memoirs, though don’t expect a straight timeline or a history lesson. Think of it more as a flight through memory, with a bit of turbulence, unexpected twists, and the occasional in-flight snack of wisdom.
From a modest childhood to a career in international civil aviation, I’ve spent a lifetime watching the world from 30,000 feet—literally. Along the way, I’ve revisited memories reaching back to early childhood and collected stories—some funny, some not so funny—all told with the hindsight of someone who’s had plenty of time to reflect, usually at cruising altitude, where the air is rarefied and the view spans continents.
It’s a journey powered by nostalgia, peppered with personal insights, and full of detours through the quirks of human nature and the human condition. So fasten your seatbelt, relax, and join me for the ride.
