Cours Gamma 1967 (1.1m)
Cours de programmation sur Gamma 30 Bull
A l’annonce du décès de Bernard Leroy, je me suis souvenu que j’avais une photo ou il était présent. Je l’ai recherché et j’ai trouvé dans mes archives ce que je vous montre aujourd’hui Il s’agit d’une photo prise pendant les cours de programmation sur Gamma 30 de chez Bull en 1967.
Pour la petite histoire de la SITA ; Mr Monniot avait décidé de former des équipes de programmeurs (le mot informaticien n’existait pas à l’époque) qui pourraient prendre la responsabilité des futurs programmes soit sur le système UNIVAC qui existait déjà mais dont le programme n’était pas SITA , soit sur le système PHILIPS en cours de design.
Mr Monniot avait fait donner des cours par correspondance d’initiation à la programmation à tout le personnel SITA de toutes les régions.
Nous étions 1200 à avoir débuté ces cours en 1965. Nous étions 17 à avoir réussi à terminer ces cours et à avoir une note à l’examen qui nous permettait de suivre l’étape suivante.
Cette étape suivante était un cours de 3 mois sur le système Gamma 30 de chez Bull. Mr Monniot avait recruté un instructeur de chez Bull pour nous faire le cours. La formation en informatique était presque inexistante à l’époque.
À la suite de ce cours, et de l’examen qui s’en est suivi, certains n’ont pas persévéré dans cette direction, deux membres sont partis directement chez UNIVAC pour intégrer l’équipe. Sept autres sont parti chez Philips pour suivre le stage d’intégration sur la programmation du DS 714. Ce cours de 3 mois chez Philips a été suivi d’un examen ou deux candidats ont été retenus.
Bernard Leroy avait été qualifié pour suivre ce stage sur Gamma 30, il l’avait suivi avec succès, il était là pour comprendre l’informatique et suivre ce qui allait se passer dans sa région mais n’avais aucune intention de quitter sont poste de DR région Asie.Les noms des participants au stage Gamma 30 :

The move of SITA Netherlands to a new building. (30.2m)
In the early 90' s SITA Netherlands moved to a a brand new building. A brochure was published as part of the celebration
of this important event. This publication also displays a the SITA Worlwide network, as well as a presentation of the CUTE service which was being launched during that period. The advertisements included in this publication are also a testimony of the spirit of that times with many adds congatulating SITA for its new building! -

Split routing (1.1m)
Have you ever heard of split routing? This technique was introduced in the DTN in the late 70's to cope with the traffic increase.
