  SITA Paris was locatred at 112 avenue CHarles De Gaulle since 1968. In March 2023, SITA is moving to a new buiulding (see https://www.carre-suffren-paris.com/) in the 15 th district of Paris.
  On this occasion, a (hybrid) Town Hall event has been organized on 09 March 2023. Here is the presentation which I have prepared for this celebration.

  Many of us know that SITA has inspired the creation of SWIFT, the bylaws of which were a copy of those of SITA, which resulted in some turmoil for SITA. We can see that strangely this poroximity between the two organizations continues, as in this article from The Economist about SWIFT facing pressure to disconnect Russians banks as part of economic sanctions against Russia, it is mentionned that SITA had to do the same in the recent past, having to disconnect airlines as part of a plan to apply sanctions against some countries. This has been new to Sita which in the past was able to remain neutral despite conflicts and difficulties between countries

  This paper, written by Joachim Brandt and Georges Chrétien, was presented at the Symposium on Computer Communications Networks and Teletraffic, Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, April 4-6, 1972.
  In this paper the principal methods to control and operate a store-and-forward network are considered. The Sita network and Type A and Type B traffic are presented with an analysis of transit times.

  SITA Head Office was initially located at 92 Avenue de Wagram and the moved to 9, rue Théodore de Banville in Paris until 1968. A photograph of that building is shown in this documment.

  SITA held a meeting in Singapore in 1971 for the purpose of developing network facilities in the Pacific area. On this photogragh we can see G. Monniot, then General Manager of SITA, addressing the audience.

  The SITA NYC center was the "most sophisticated in the entire network". in 1971 the decision was taken to replace the former Univac 418-II with a more powerfull Univac 418-III. This migration was performed in September 1971 and came along with a relocation of the site to Bohemia. The photograph shows the new installation.

  In 1971 SITA celebrated the first anniversary of the HLN network and performed the first transmission of Type A traffic over the HLN for BEA with a CRT in ROM and the BEA BEACON ASRS - 5 computer reservation system in LON.

  In this monograph edited by D. Kroneberg in July 1972 to inform SITA Members about the main tasks of SITA Management.
  The introduction is from Georges Monniot and there are contributions from R. Bébié, C. Avignon, B. Weibel, A. Carson, C. Deroual, D. Andorka and D. Kroneberg.
  Surprisingly there no article on the SITA oldest service still in activity: the Type B service!
